【RYO UCHIYAMA SOLO EXHIBITION “言霊 -KOTODAMA-”】

2025年4月3日（木）より米原康正がキュレーションをするギャラリー
tHE GALLERY OMOTESANDOにて、内山崚（ウチヤマリョウ）による個展「言霊-KOTODAMA-」を開催いたします。

書道家の他、ダンサーとしても活躍する内山崚のオリジナリティ溢れ、躍動感に満ちた書をご高覧くださいませ。

We are pleased to announce that tHE GALLERY OMOTESANDO will host a solo exhibition by RYO UCHIYAMA “KOTODAMA” starting April 3rd, 2025.

Ryo Uchiyama, who is not only a calligrapher but also a dancer, brings a unique and dynamic energy to his calligraphy. Please come and experience his original and vibrant works.

言葉には魂が宿る。
表現した言葉が人の心を動かし時に運命をも変え、
その力は「今」という瞬間にこそ強く響く。

激しく燃え上がる情熱、静かに響く余韻、人と人とを結ぶ縁、僕にしか表現できない作品を
すべてを筆に込め、一筆一筆に魂を宿す。

この空間で交わる文字とあなたの心が、新たな巡り合わせを生むことを願っています。

The words we express move people’s hearts and, at times, can change destinies.
Their power resonates most strongly in the moment of “now.”

A passion that burns fiercely, the quiet resonance that lingers, the connections that bind people together, works that only I can express.
I pour all of this into my works, embedding my soul into each brushstroke.

●内山崚 / RYO UCHIYAMA profile
親の勧めで7歳から書道を始める。
わずか10歳で地元福岡にて県知事賞を受賞。
その後も多くの賞を受賞し、朝日新聞、読売新聞、西日本新聞などの各種メディアにも取り上げられるようになる。
高校１年生から3年連続、高校•大学書道展全国大会で大賞を受賞。高校2年生の時には、大東文化大学主催 第48回書道展において文部科学大臣賞を受賞。

現在は書道アーティストとして、対個人から対企業までデザインやパフォーマンスなど幅広く提供している。またファッションデザインも手掛けるなど、広く事業を展開している。

第63回 福岡県美術展会書道入選（高校生2年時）
高校•大学書道展全国大会大賞（高校1年〜3年連続）
大東文化大学主催 第48回書道展文部科学大臣賞（高校2年時）

Encouraged by his parents, he began practicing calligraphy at the age of 7.
At just 10 years old, he won the Governor’s Award in his hometown of Fukuoka.
He continued to receive numerous awards and gained media attention, including coverage by Asahi Shimbun, Yomiuri Shimbun, and Nishi-nippon Shimbun.

From his first year of high school, he won the Grand Prize at the National High School and University Calligraphy Exhibition for three consecutive years. In his second year of high school, he received the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award at the 48th Calligraphy Exhibition hosted by Daito Bunka University.

Currently, he works as a calligraphy artist, offering a wide range of services including design and performances for both individuals and corporations. He has also expanded into fashion design, broadening his business ventures.

彼から学ぶことは本当に多い。
たとえば、僕は彼と話をして「とにかく始めなければ始まらない」という当たり前のことを、改めて意識するようになった。また、彼が同時に進める書とダンスの活動は、静と動の対比ではあるが、極めればその境界が曖昧になる瞬間がある、ということに気づかされた。
彼の活動を知るほどに、学ぶことは尽きない。
彼のように、一つの道を極めた視点から、僕も物事を考えてみたい。

There is so much to learn from him.
For example, after talking with him, I became more aware of the simple truth that “nothing starts unless you begin.” Also, his simultaneous pursuit of both calligraphy and dance made me realize that while they are contrasts between stillness and movement, there are moments when, if taken to their extremes, the boundary between them becomes blurred.
The more I learn about his activities, the more I realize there is to absorb.
I want to think about things from the perspective of someone who has mastered a single path, just like him.
